Facing East

  1. The project of China to harness the power of hydroelectricity has made many rivers disappear. But China is a populous country. Therefore, will it be enough water for people if the Government keeps working on this project?

  2. I hope this project stop, it cause many problem to the people on the riverside. It isn't improve the people life, it make it worse.

  3. I kind of like this video. I think this showed us basic informations about the river and cause of the death. I think making hydroelectricity from one of the biggest river is a good idea. I wonder why making hydroelectricity destroys the river.

  4. loosing region and rivers? does that mean destroying? well, to me me destroying is not good at all.Sometimes it worst. Oh btw, is it a movie i want to see it.

  5. This project must be stop or else the world would end

  6. The video is not only the trailer, it's also the warning for people. The death of the river? The Chinese would lost many things if they lose any river. Not only the electricity.

  7. The death of the third largest river in the world is a big lost for China. It only means many people is going to suffer because of this loss.

  8. NIce video!!!I love the soundtrack in your video. It's warning the human civilization. Hydroelectricity can destroy regions and rivers??

  9. Out-of-water is the biggest issue rigt now. I don't think it is a right time to work on this project.

  10. China had destroyed a 3rd longest river in the world, then that means in no more time the Tiger and Amazon river will die too?

    ReplyDelete
  11. This will make desertification. Many animals and plants need water, if without water, many animal will die. If we will don't start to stop this, this will be disaster for human and animals + plants on Earth.

  12. This video shows me that over-population can cause many troubles and miseries. Indeed, losing the third largest river in the world is an enormous loss.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm confused. Keeping the world 3rd largest river or construct a project that help people, which is better?

  14. To me, the development of the hydroelectricity is a good thing because population is growing rapidly and too much energy is being used or wasted. However, to some people like the ones that live near this river may find it bad since they will lose their living benefits here.

  15. I don't think it's a good signal. I wondered whether how ARE WE if one of the largest river destroyed? You know, today, the water requirements of people rise higher every day. And one of 3 is destroyed, are the 2 of the rest river can serve for more than 6.5 billion people? Moreover, for the scenes of this river, it also emphasized the situation of people live near the river. They'll be worse in work and life needs or poisonous gas from industry if they continued living in their hometown. I questioned me "Do the government think about those people or just continue to over-exploited?"

  16. That's not good at all. Alot of people in the world are thirsty, they need clean water. But in China, they have a great natural resources which can provided people who are thirsty. Loosing a third largest river in the world is wrong decision, it's destroyed habitat of a lot of fishes which cause distinction.

  17. The death of the biggest river because population grow up and they need electricity.

  18. It such a shame that such beautiful physical features of China will be destroyed for electricity. Millions of homes will be under water and people will have to move away. But that's what people in China decided to do to support the large demand for electricity in the world where people are relying so much on technology. It's sad to admit that technology has become a big part of our lives (but I'm off topic here). The process of making hydroelectricity from the dams that China is building is much more Eco-friendly than the process of burning fossil fuels to get electricity.

  19. This is just a trailer, but I've seen that this will gonna be a good movie, it talk basic about the world 3rd largest river

  20. By watching this video, I think the Government should stop this project. I want to see the whole movie. I want to know more about this.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I hope that this film not gonna be in real life because it a negative things to lose a river.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think this video is too short, it doesn't tell me how this project gonna effect, destroy the river. And it doesn't make this interesting to watch by watching the trailer, in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  23. i think this project have destroyed many rivers, and maybe it will destroy some more. and this video is a little bit short.

  24. China is such a high populated country, for since the time of the Great Wall, the government had already decided on this project in order to harness the power of electricity (I guess it is the Three Gorges Dam Project). Because more population requires more consumption, that means this project has to be done despite the important historical regions and rivers might me destroyed. But, I wonder:
    - Since the time of the Great Wall, did people really know and concern about electricity?
    - Why is this a dead river if the dam is built there? Is there any other positive outcome (like more fertile soil)?
    - Is there any other ways of serving human lives with adequate needs (electricity, water, etc) without damaging the environment like this?
    - If the project is carried out, which means the river will be dead, will it cause any negative effect to the Earth at all?

Last but not least, when is the film released?

  25. I kind of not understand the video, but i think that is talk about the hydroelectricity it destroy the life around it, that is very dangerous.

  27. This video wanted to show to us that we humans are harming the environment, polluting rivers are one problem. China's great rivers are slowly disappearing because of overpopulation and people releasing chemicals and trash into the rivers.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I wonder if this movie is based on a real life event. If it is, then the loss of the third largest river would be epic because of the over-population in China. I think the Chinese government should think more about reducing even more of their population in order to save some of the world's natural resources to make the world better.

    ReplyDelete
  29. There are a lot of rivers in China disappear. Because of the project of China about hydroelectricity. And that make the third largest river disappear. That was a shame to China for lost these rivers.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Poor the Yangtze river, i wonder if it gonna be dammed by the government

    ReplyDelete
  31. We are harming the nature, but it's not anyone that who consumed too much, and overuse the provided natural resources, but us. We will soon kill our earth, and as an individual, people think that if they consume a bit more, it's not that big a deal, but if 6 bilion people think that way. It's that big of a deal.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is not a good thing for China. We should protect the environment instead of harming it in order to stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The death of the third largest river in the world is a big lost for China. but
I think this is not good. we must protect the environment.

    ReplyDelete
  34. They're destroying the region and rivers? How are people going to live? I think it will effect their lives a lot, because they don't have enough water. This project is not helpful, they should stop.

    ReplyDelete
  35. China is one of the biggest and oldest country in the word and it's beautiful. It's have a lot of natural wonders and destroy it?? I don't think so, there are a lot of different way to gets energy, wind power, solar power etc.. Why need to destroy the most beautiful place in the world?? If one river died, how long would it takes for every other rivers die too?? Water is a most important thing, without it, there will be no lives. What about fishers and farmers, with out water, there will be no fish, no soil and it cause starvation and more desertification, damage the Mother Earth. It's that a good consequence??

    ReplyDelete
  36. This is so not a good thing for China because China is a large country and have a high population and they have to build dam and let the river, if they keep building dam and might every rivers will be dead and might cause to extinction for the fish. That so not good !

    ReplyDelete
  37. I agree with Ryan. How could these people do this? Loosing lots of unique regions and THINGS. As I always imagine, and as I was always certain of being right, the larger the country, the harder to controls.
As I grow up in a place being hate because of I am a Chinese, so what? What's the problem? There will be always a best solution for every problem. They just need to figure it out, like me figuring ways to break through. My first and second was bad, but this is a positive opinion. Respect it. DWI-credited to V-I-V-I&Darlene. [the 37th]

  38. China is facing a huge problem because using hydroelectricity destroys fish, rivers, habitat of people etc. However, it doesn't cause pollution like fossil fuels which is a benefit. I wonder how the Chinese government going to handle this issue.

    ReplyDelete
  39. there's not much to say but is losing one of the rivers worth it?
if i were them (chinese government) i wouldnt take a wild chance like that even though life is about taking chances this one just isnt worth it

  40. Okay, so water is a part of material that is required for organism. Without water = Deaths, as I assumed. Can you imagine of the world lost its 3rd largest river? It is going to be miserable! Think about species’ habitat, where to the fish, the seashell live? How about fishermen or whatever works that related to WATER? People are going to be out of jobs for sure. And the reason that was reflected in the video was Hydroelectricity demand. Humans were over used of it, but also was the effect of the growth of population. It was too obvious that this video is a movie trailer, as well as a Warning. I felt really sorry for China was chosen to harness the power of Hydroelectricity! Certainly China will soon be the first place where has to suffer the anguish of the lost of a beautiful feature.

  41. China have some serious problem about environment over there. Killing the third largest river is a big thing, people need to do something about it. The video show many beautiful views of the country, if we want our later generations to enjoy it, save it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don't know why the third largest river is disappear yet but if it does,it not gonna harm the Earth life very much and it will take one of the priceless resources of the world

    ReplyDelete
  43. This is not a good thing for China. This video shows us that humans are harming the environment, polluting rivers are one problem.I think the video is too short. :)

  44. Uh okay. Interesting. But the death of a river? The Yangtze is dead? Seems pretty soon. It's just amazing that all these concerns, these projects arise because of technology. Technology solves problems, but then it creates bigger problems. As people continue to solve them, they expose themselves to even greater problems, for now the dimension of their knowledge is exponentially increased. Not that I'm a technophobe, but, these super-big problems that concern the whole existence of humanity, problems this big, have never appeared before. Probably this is the time when there can really be somebody to save the world. Maybe our grandchildren will write about one of us who solved this problem, the problem that is flooding, demolishing structures, destroying lives, destroying rivers. A force powerful enough to be able to alter Earth itself.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think this video's purpose is to persuade us to go against this project (3 gorges dam). Does the Chinese value their culture at all, even the great third largest river is being destroyed? Since a long time ago, people doesn't need that much electricity. Can these people think up any other ways to generate electricity without damaging the nature? Why can't they build it at other river? I guess many resources will be taken away. What is the government thinking? In the end, I agree with this ad, to stop the project!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Those are their rivers, let they do whatever they want and in the end, they will pay for what they have done.

  47. I personally think destroying rivers is just wrong.
even if its for our own good,
its not for the fish, or underwater creatures.
if fish were the number one species on earth,
we wouldnt want them to use water and drown our land for their own benefit of more water to live in, right?
    does that even make sense?

if you understand me, awesome! means im speaking well :)
if you dont, oh well :]

  48. The world's third largest river in the world is going to die because of the population of China, so they could make hydro electricity? what a shame... *shaking head*. What about all the sea animals living in there? What about the beauty of the river stored there? We should be glad that it's still there, not destroying it for ourselves.

We shouldn't destroy any natural parts of the world, period.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Since China is a very heavily populated country, it needs more energy for people to use, especially electricity. Therefore this project might bring good things to those people. However, it would cause negative effects on people who live near rivers and also the rivers themselves. The fish in the rivers will be killed which means another source of energy (food) is destroyed to those places. It's also terrible to see so many historical places like the third largest river in the world being destroyed by this project, but that all depends on the government. If they decided to lose those wonderful landscapes for a project that can bring their citizens better lives then it is their choice.

    ReplyDelete
  50. China is well-known for the most heavily populated country. So due to the population, the third largest river in the world is going to die? So that they could make some stupid hydro electricity? I think that's not a very good idea. Do they ever think about the sea creatures? That's currently right now living in that river? That means, China will destroy the fishes, the beauty nature, and ruined Mother Nature's creation.

I vote no for destroying it, it would help us, yes. But it won't help us if we destroy it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. we are going to get out of water so it\s not smart to build this project right.
china have a big population the project maybe would help china but it's not good for the ocean, rivers and stuff like that

    ReplyDelete
  52. I don't know what will happen I like that it makes clean energy, but I don't like that it kills the river o well I'll see what happens in the end I say don't build the dam.

    ReplyDelete
  53. This Video talk a bout: Environment destroy by human!!! China have big population so river and ocean may be more pollution!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. People going to loss alot of crop and they will not able to survive in those area. More people will die and more will go to another place where land with grass.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The human destroyed the environment. And China has more pollution.

    ReplyDelete
  56. This video talk about : Bad things from China, harming Environment. Make A river will close more!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. everything has negative and positive effects. To me, the dam has more negative than positive effects.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The Chinese government should think more about the effects of their creations to the environment.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I kind of not understand the video, but i think that is talk about the hydroelectricity it destroy the life around it, that is very dangerous.

    ReplyDelete
  60. i think the government need to understand the damage that it will make for China in the future. They should cancel the project, if they don't many rivers disappear. When all the river in China disappear, China is in a big problem. I think the damage of doing this project is a disaster. They need to cancel the project

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think that the government should think about what they have done. There are lots of people in China and not all the river is fresh and clean.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Over population can cause many effect for a country. I hope that this video wouldn't be true in the future :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. is this a trailer of the movie "Facing East" smthig.., I don't really understand but I just know that the 3rd largest river in the world is no more in China because the population is too much, I want to see the movie to understand more.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I wonder how would people react after the death of the third largest river in the world. If electricity would bring them happiness, then it would be a good thing. But if it would not, then the people would be very miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  65. i can't understand but destroy the 3rf largest river int he world is really bad. People live around it will have to move to other places.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I not sure what the video clip mean but I think that, the people in east China need help form the government to make a better place.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't really understand the video.
    - How can the damage of the three largest river due to the over-population?

    ReplyDelete
  68. The trailer is very cool. i think that China has a lot of issue about environment.

    ReplyDelete
  69. China is in trouble now. I think the project will cause more trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I think that's not a good idea to build a lot of dams, they just need to build the dams in which river that cause flood usually, they don't need to build dam in every river. I don't really understand this video, keeping the river vs. building the dams for electricity, which is better?

    ReplyDelete
  71. this is not good for china , and they don't need to build every dam in river , i don't really understand this video

    ReplyDelete
  72. Chinnese People, one day, they need to leave their city
